BWF World Tour Update: Japan Open 2025 Preview
By Danial Haris
The BWF World Tour 2025 is a key event in international badminton, featuring top players and influencing global rankings. One of the major tournaments is the Japan Open, a Super 750 event offering US$950,000 in prize money.
Held from July 15–20 at Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium, it includes five categories: singles and doubles for both men and women, plus mixed doubles. As a crucial lead-up to the World Championships in Paris this August, it helps players gain momentum and ranking points.
Malaysia’s chances remain strong despite Lee Zii Jia’s withdrawal due to injury, with focus now on top doubles pairs like Aaron Chia/Soh Wooi Yik, Goh Sze Fei/Nur Izzuddin, and Pearly Tan/Thinaah Muralitharan. Two strong mixed doubles teams will also compete. With defending champions, rising stars, and intense rivalries, the Japan Open 2025 promises exciting matches and high-stakes action for fans worldwide.
