Finding Joy in the Chaos
By: Daniellia Fariesya
Stress is unavoidable, yet our approach to it may turn it into something else. Sometimes doing fun and light things like dancing, drawing, watching a comedy, or listening to music makes us release the tension. These simple activities distract our mind from overthinking and give us a temporary escape from all that appears to be overwhelming.
Once we choose to address stress in a creative or playful manner, it then becomes a self-healing process. For example, writing down your feelings in a funny or poetic way, or transforming your stress into a funny joke or video, can actually cause one to laugh at what once appeared insurmountable. It does not mean you are avoiding your problems it means you are giving your heart some space to breathe before you tackle them again.
Finally, turning stress into entertainment is about balance. It is okay to take a time-out and let yourself be entertained by something that makes you smile. By adjusting our attitude and learning to value little things, we can turn even the most challenging days into opportunities for lightness and resilience.
